Your view may turn out to be correct but is the opposite of mine :-). I bet $22 on this to gain $538. The weekend will tell, but after all the Hunter stuff it just seems plain as day to me that the Bidenn family were all in on the take and all need pardons. They ALL live like royalty, and have for years, and NONE of them have a day job or own a business..

the thing about Yes Joe that doesn’t make sense is he has presidential immunity. and the SC just upheld it firmly. also, if the Hurr report deemed Biden incapable of being prosecuted cause of his memory issues it’s unlikely any prosecutor would pursue charges against him.

The immunity thing is almost an afterthought, the biggest reason Joe would never pardon himself is because legally it's not suppose to work that way, a president can't pardon himself. It's why Nixon resigned and had Ford pardon him. It's why Trump never tried to pardon himself (I mean he could have resigned and had Pence do it but he's too paranoid to try). No on Joe pardoning himself is the most certain bet on here, which makes it pretty silly that bettors think there's a 4% of it happening.

Oh, I always bet No. But that $14k profit is going to surge sky high in a few days when nobody gets pardons and nobody shows up to the inauguration.

It's true that Biden would not pardon himself for acts taken during his Presidency - indeed, he does have broad immunity for acts as President, as per the SCOTUS. Where Biden needs protection is from acts as Vice President and from 2012-16. This is why he preemptively pardoned Hunter and will likely pardon Jim Biden. The DOJ is going to indict Jim for influence peddling; he's already been referred for prosecution.

Whether Presidents can pardon themselves has not been legally tested. I argue that, in his waning years, Biden would rather be part of a Defense of his self-pardon up to the SCOTUS than a criminal prosecution via the DOJ.
