Not really sure what you or anyone means by them "messing up".. You think it wasn't really 62 like the morning report officially states? And if they did simply just put the wrong number there and it actually was really 59.5 or some value that would resolve as "Yes" for 59 to 60, how would they go about fixing it? Go back and re-observe this morning's climate? No.. They are going to keep it at 62 unless at some point it got warmer, which it might have, but 62 will be the lowest value that resolves as "Yes". It's in the past and recorded.

@Duderman The 62 reading is corrupt data due to sensor issues Houston has been experiencing in the last 4-5 days. Temperature was just 53 before shooting up to 63 in 5 minutes. Using temperature data from the nearby stations, the true temperature was 53F when the 63F happened.

Yesterday the shown max on time series was 68F but NWS ended up going with 64 due to corrupt data. If NWS does the same today there's a chance they'd go with the hourly max which is 59 to 60.
