Most locations are run by independent business owners, who pay McDonald's rent and a share of their sales. This contract tracks the price of McDonald's stock (MCD). Its business depends on customer visits and spending, as well as menu prices, competition, and food and labor costs.

Does the market end?

No. Perps have no expiration date, so you can hold a position as long as you want and close it any time the market is open.

What is liquidation?

Funding keeps the perp price close to the price of the underlying asset. These payments encourage trades that pull the two prices back together, and are paid directly between traders. Funding is capped at 2% of your position value per funding period.

How are perps different from other financial tools?

1. Profit whether you think the price will rise or fall. Go long or short with equal ease.2. No expiration. Unlike predictions and options, perps don’t have an end date. Hold for five days or five months. Funding payments apply while you hold.3. Trade with leverage. Control a bigger position with less upfront cash, with bigger gains and bigger losses.
