A Doge day afternoon...

By Terry Oldreal

On Friday, I was set to publish an article about our new Matt Gaetz markets and the state of his quest to be the next Attorney General.

But with just under 18 hours to go until my deadline, he decided to withdraw his name from consideration because he didn’t want to be a “distraction.”

Now he's busy selling Cameo vids for $500 a pop and I'm stuck with a bunch of jokes about air hockey tables that I can't use.

Luckily, I've got something less sleazy and more reputable to write about… memecoins.

Specifically, Kalshi's all-new Dogecoin markets!

This is an opinion, and is not financial advice. The views expressed are those of the author, who uses a pseudonym and cannot trade on the platform.

Kalshi’s New Dogecoin Markets

Kalshi already offers a wide range of crypto markets related to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether.

When will Bitcoin hit $100K?

Now, we’re thrilled to announce our new Dogecoin markets.

Unlike the U.S. dollar—which began as a serious currency and became a joke—Dogecoin started as a joke and became a serious cryptocurrency.

To be fair, there are some naysayers on the economic fringe, like Warren Buffett and Jamie Dimon, who would vehemently disagree that memecoins are stronger than the greenback.

Luckily, even negative Nancies like Warren and Jamie can take advantage of Kalshi’s Dogecoin markets. They provide a great opportunity for crypto lovers and haters alike.

You can use these markets to:

  • Speculate on Dogecoin price movements in either direction
  • Hedge your current Dogecoin holdings to protect against price drops
  • Gain limited exposure to Dogecoin to take advantage of upward swings without having to own crypto

Is Dogecoin the next Bitcoin?

Is Dogecoin poised to be the next bitcoin, or will it fade into obscurity like so many shitcoins before it?

If I knew the answer to that, I’d be sitting on a megayacht instead of living in constant fear that a 20-something former ballerina might cancel my kids' health insurance.

But what I do know is that the richest man in the world is pumping this coin by literally naming a new government agency after it.

Is that legal? Will it end well?

Again, if I knew, I wouldn’t be driving a 2010 Ford Escape.

But whichever way you think it’s going to go, Kalshi gives you the tools you need to hedge and/or capitalize.

Dogecoin Dailies

Kalshi’s daily markets let you speculate on and hedge against the daily price of Dogecoin.

You can trade on it being above or below a specific price target, or you can trade on the price landing in a specific price range.

We also offer a weekly Dogecoin max price market, for a slightly less degenerate trading experience.

How high will Dogecoin get this year?

If you’re bullish or bearish on Dogecoin’s longer term prospects, our end-of-year market is for you. It allows you to trade on the price of the currency at the end of 2024.

When will Dogecoin reach $1?

Do you think Dogecoin will hit $1? If you can time it right, this market is a golden opportunity for Dogecoin bulls.

And for Dogecoin doubters, this market is a great way to trade against the coin's prospects beyond 2024, especially since Kalshi pays you interest on your open positions while you wait.

Will Dogecoin hit 69¢ by Inauguration Day

Do you think Dogecoin will hit 69¢ by inauguration day? Do you think this market is a blatant attempt to get a repost on X from Elon Musk? Do you think it will work?

Either way, Kalshi gives you the tools you need to capitalize on every twist and turn. So check out all our crypto and Dogecoin markets today.
