
For the purposes of this market, an upset occurs when a team with a higher numerical seed defeats a team with a lower numerical seed. Upset seed margin is calculated as the difference between the seed numbers of the two teams in a game where the higher numerical-seeded team wins (for example, if a 12-seed defeats a 5-seed, the upset seed margin is 7).
