A lead change is recorded only when a team that is trailing goes on to take the lead. Tying the game alone does not constitute a lead change unless the same trailing team subsequently scores again to move ahead. If a team allows the opponent to tie the game and then scores to retake a lead it just held, this is not considered a lead change. The first score of the game does not count as a lead change.
