FAQ

Lakers vs Suns questions

How often do the Lakers and Suns play each other?
The Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns meet four times every regular season, twice at each arena. The NBA's 82-game schedule is fixed by relationship rather than drawn each year: sixteen games against the four clubs in your own division, which is why the Pacific pairings are the ones that come round most.
Are the Lakers and Suns in the same division?
Yes. The Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns both play in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. A division is five clubs, so Lakers vs Suns is one of the ten pairings that division is made of, and it is the pairing type the NBA schedules most often.
What is at stake when the Lakers play the Suns?
Seeding, and the Pacific Division itself. Head-to-head record is the first tiebreaker the NBA applies between two clubs that finish level, so if the Lakers and the Suns end the season on the same record these four games settle it between them. Division record is the tiebreaker after that, and both clubs’ division records are built partly out of this same fixture. A division title is worth the tiebreaker rather than a guaranteed seed — the league dropped the guarantee in 2015 — so the standing these games move is the conference one.
Can the Lakers and Suns meet in the playoffs?
Yes. Both clubs are in the Western Conference, so a Lakers vs Suns playoff series is possible anywhere from the first round through the Western Conference Finals, on top of the regular-season meetings — and they can meet in the play-in tournament before that if both finish seventh to tenth.
Where can I follow the Lakers and Suns for the rest of the season?
Every Lakers and Suns game Kalshi lists has its own market page, with the moneyline, the spread, the total and the player props built on that fixture. The NBA market index carries the rest of the league, and the matchup index carries every other pairing the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns are in.
