For purposes of this Contract, the United States recognizes Reza Pahlavi when the government of the United States takes official action acknowledging Reza Pahlavi specifically as the rightful or legitimate leader of Iran. Recognition must be explicit regarding Reza Pahlavi as an individual, not merely recognition of Iran as a state or recognition of whatever government happens to be in power.
The following scenarios will resolve the market to Yes: the United States issues an official statement recognizing Reza Pahlavi as the legitimate head of state or government of Iran, the United States accepts diplomatic credentials from Reza Pahlavi as the representative of Iran, or the United States formally invites Reza Pahlavi to state functions or diplomatic meetings in their capacity as leader of Iran.
The following scenarios will NOT resolve the market to Yes: the United States recognizes Iran as a state without specifically acknowledging Reza Pahlavi as its leader, the United States engages in informal or unofficial communications with Reza Pahlavi without formal recognition, the United States provides humanitarian aid or conducts business with Iran without diplomatic recognition, the United States makes conditional statements about potential future recognition dependent on unmet conditions, the United States recognizes a different person as the legitimate leader of Iran, the United States maintains "studied neutrality" or refuses to recognize any claimant to leadership of Iran, private entities or non-governmental organizations from the United States express support for Reza Pahlavi, or the United States had already recognized Reza Pahlavi before Issuance (prior recognition does not count as new recognition).
