If the federal government (or an entity of it) announces that it will begin to, or has begun, bitcoin mining operations before Jan 1, 2027, then the market resolves to Yes. Sources from the United States Congress, the Executive Branch, The New York Times, the Associated Press, Reuters, Axios, Politico, Semafor, The Information, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC.
“Bitcoin mining” means the process whereby a computer system or specialized hardware (e.g., ASIC miners) is used to validate transactions and add blocks to the Bitcoin blockchain in return for newly issued bitcoins.
