This is the league's transaction log, not a news feed. A move appears when the league files it, which for a trade is usually within hours of the agreement and occasionally the next morning — so a deal reported last night may be here under today's date.
The window runs from the start of the season, so this is a season-to-date record rather than a rolling few weeks: a move filed in October is still here in April. 101 of the days in that span carried at least one move; the rest were quiet.
The heading over each run of moves is the feed's own wording — "Signed as Free Agent", "Exercised Contract Option", "Waived". It is printed rather than translated, because a move's own name distinguishes cases a verb of ours would flatten: a waiver, an expiry and a declared free agency all look like "left the club" and are three different things.
Players are named rather than linked. The feed identifies about one in eight by an id this site can resolve, and a page that linked those and not the rest would look broken in a way the data is not.
