Clarification (04/20/26): To clarify, because this case is a direct appeal, "petitioner" means the appellant-side position as it stood when the Supreme Court took up the case: that is, seeking a reversal of the district court judgment striking down Senate Bill 8 (a.k.a. SB8 - Louisiana’s 2024 congressional map). Louisiana's subsequent change in litigation position does not affect resolution.
