The 2026-27 NBA Cup: 30 clubs across 6 groups, with the knockout bracket beneath. The bracket fills in once the group stage decides it.

Where this comes from: Group tables and the bracket are the league’s own, read off the tournament schedule. Group games count towards the regular season; the final does not.

METHOD

How the NBA Cup works

The NBA Cup is played inside the regular season. Every group game counts in the standings as well as here, and so do the quarterfinals and semifinals — only the final does not, which is why the two clubs that reach it play 83 games and everybody else plays 82.

Groups are ranked on win rate, then the Cup's own tiebreakers as far as the schedule supports them: head-to-head among the tied clubs, then point differential, then total points, then the previous season's record. The league settles anything still level with a random drawing, which no feed publishes, so clubs level after four rungs are shown in a stable order rather than with an invented winner.

The groups are not lettered here. The league names them East Group A through West Group C, and nothing in the schedule says which is which — it is derivable only from the membership, so printing a letter would mean guessing at one. A wrong letter on a correct table is an error a reader cannot catch, so this page shows the conference and the clubs instead.

The point differential column is not the league's official figure. The Cup excludes overtime from it, and the schedule carries final scores with no period breakdown to subtract, so a group game that went to overtime counts here and does not count in the NBA's own table. It is shown because it orders the clubs this page is showing; it is not the number to quote.

Records count finished games only. A fixture that is scheduled or in progress adds nothing to a club's row, so early in the group stage the games-played column is smaller than the fixture list implies rather than crediting a result nobody has yet.

FAQ

Questions

What is the NBA Cup?
An in-season tournament played inside the regular season. Clubs are drawn into groups, the group winners and the best runners-up advance to a knockout bracket, and the winner takes the NBA Cup.
Do NBA Cup games count in the regular-season standings?
All of them except the final. Group games, quarterfinals and semifinals all count, which is why the two finalists finish with 83 games played and every other club with 82.
Why are the groups not labelled A, B and C?
Because the schedule this page reads does not carry the letter. It is derivable only from a group's membership, so printing one would mean guessing — and a wrong letter on an otherwise correct table is a mistake no reader could detect. The conference and the clubs are shown instead.
How are teams ranked within a group?
By win rate, then head-to-head among the tied clubs, then point differential, then total points, then the previous season's record. The league breaks anything still level with a random drawing, which is not published anywhere this page can read.
Are these betting odds?
No. Nothing on this page is a market price or a prediction. Kalshi's NBA markets are on the championship, playoff and conference pages linked below.
